The celebrations of the 5th anniversary of the Sevillian cannabis association had a program of activities for 4 days.
In 2017, the association of cannabis users "Hindu Kush" began to function with headquarters in a large premises in the heart of the historic center of Seville. At that time in the city there were already around twenty associations of this type. The first Sevillian association, Arsecse, was operating during the late 90s. It was not until around 2010 and onwards that the associations would start to become popular and they began to open new projects throughout Spain, also in Seville, where today we can have around a hundred of these entities within the metropolitan area.
"La Hindu", as the members affectionately call it, is an association that little by little has been forming a very familiar community. Cannabis users found here a private club with a large premises distributed over several floors and divided into areas for different activities. A room with a small stage and a large television screen to be able to watch audiovisual content, perform musical activities or other artistic performances or serve yourself some hot drinks to be able to chat with other members sitting on the spacious sofas. On the first floor, in addition to having another large room full of sofas and tables, there is an area with several pool tables where you can spend time playing. Also on this floor, a small soundproof room serves as a musical production and recording studio to the delight of the members. Going up to the second floor we find another large room with some more games such as darts or a ping-pong table, and more sofas and tables. All this and not forgetting the cannabis products that members have always enjoyed at the dispensary.
After five years of incessant activity, holding events of all kinds at the headquarters itself, participating in fairs and other organizations or projects related to cannabis, the association is in the midst of a process of change.
The headquarters is being renovated to expand the facilities, redesign the space and the decoration to offer a better conditioned place where to further develop some of the activities that are already taking place.
To celebrate all this, 4 days were planned where there was everything. Flamenco with Carmen Yruela, humorous monologues with Manuel Partida, Musical Sessions with Ibn Itaka, Future Beatz, Evil Kuts, Pony Pool Club, Valle and G Vampires, as well as concerts by Rerevoid and Little Pepe, always accompanied by "appetizers" and soft drinks There were no shortage of contests and raffles every day to win prizes with a diversity of paraphernalia products that included articles that the "MASCOTTE" brand sent exclusively for the association's members. In addition, throughout Sunday, the fourth day of the celebration, a market was held with products from Supper and Not Found. In the afternoon, the visit of members of the club "The Alchemist" (Málaga) also brought with them the company of the renowned glassblower artist Heliox Glass who carried some of his pieces for the enjoyment of all members. Although for greater enjoyment with the pipes, the managers were Nasta Extract, an Andalusian group that gave some of their delicious extractions a try.
There is no time for a hangover. During these weeks after the celebration of the 5th Anniversary, the Christmas holidays take place in addition to the end and beginning of the year, so in the association the festive and family atmosphere is the basis for continuing the project with the new changes that are taking place and that they are coming More space, more modern and better equipped facilities to define the different areas where you can relax or have more activities. Likewise, it is intended to promote the tools and support for the growth of the activities that have already been carried out these years in the association, both artistic, musical and audio-visual productions, as well as other hobbies of the members as well as collaborations with entities external to the club and organizations related to the cannabis sector either to work for regulation and its development or to participate in other types of companies.
"La Hindu" has proven to be a perfect example of what a private association of cannabis users is, working based on good practice protocols as well as serving as an information and advice center on practices and risk forecasting in consumption. In the future, it intends to continue working on the development of internal activities with members and in collaboration with organizations in the sector to be a benchmark and an open center for other cannabis users and interested people to get information and participate.
