Expert Course in Cannabis Industry and Digital Agronomy in Alicante

Organized by IUESAL, it includes both the fundamental theoretical aspects and the practical aspects necessary for the use of the crop under control parameters and digital optimization.


The University of Alicante, the Miguel Hernández University and the Tecnológico de Antioquia in Colombia offer the Expert Course in Cannabis Industry and Digital Agronomy


The University Institute of Social Studies of Latin America (IUESAL) of the University of Alicante has opened the pre-registration period for the Cannabis Industry and Digital Agronomy Expert Course, university training that begins on October 19, 2023 and will end on October 3, 2023. February 2024. It is an expert degree by the University of Alicante, organized with the Miguel Hernández University of Elche and the Tecnológico de Antioquía University Institution of Colombia, and is directed by the doctor in Computer Engineering and IUESAL researcher Francisco Javier Ferrandez Pastor.


The general objective of the Digital Cannabis Industry and Agronomy course is to provide knowledge bases on the value chain of the cannabis industry, knowledge that is useful both for professionals linked to the sector and for inexperienced students who want to develop a future professional or business activity.


The course is based on the experience of different research groups from the three organizing universities and the contribution of experts in the industry and the market for this crop. Industry and Digital Agronomy of Cannabis is designed so that graduates from different disciplines such as enabling technologies, agronomy, industry, economics or law, who are interested in the value chain and the cannabis industry, acquire knowledge about different aspects that will be covered in the course.


The training program includes both the fundamental theoretical aspects and the practical aspects necessary for the use of the crop under control parameters and digital optimization. During the itinerary, varieties of uses, types and treatments of the crop, applicable regulation and business opportunity will be analyzed and discussed, emphasizing the use of digital enabling technologies that are currently available for optimization, traceability and security. The contents are divided into the following aspects: Keys in the license application process; Cultivation processes; Digital enabling technologies; and Business, commerce, distribution and market.


The course consists of 20 ECTS credits and is blended, so it requires a stay during the month of January in Alicante to complete it. The pre-registration period is open until September 15 on the ContinUA website.
