10th Anniversary of the "Bolera Besaya"

The association also celebrated a new edition of the cannabis cup with numerous activities and guests at an event at the headquarters.

Every year the "Bolera Besaya" association of Torrelavega (Cantabria) celebrates its anniversary at the same time as a cannabis cup. For such an important date, an event is always organized for members with numerous activities, musical performances, food and the best smokes. Opened in 2013, this year it celebrated its 10th anniversary by "throwing the house out the window", or rather opening the patio to include space for food stalls and some brands of companies in the cannabis sector to show their products and news.

During the months prior to the cup event, entries from the different categories were received and then sent to the judges who had several weeks to taste the products and give them their evaluations.

49 samples were submitted to the competition in the Outdoor Flowers category, 9 Outdoor samples, 22 edibles, 15 hash and 6 Rosin samples. Participations came from all the provinces of Spain, presenting both associations, individual growers and groups of growers. In general, the quality of the samples presented was quite high, as well as the presentation of the foodstuffs with surprising recipes.

On Friday, August 25, a welcome meeting was held at the association's headquarters where some of the participants and guests were arriving and they took the opportunity to chat and introduce themselves to each other. For the big day of the celebration event, numerous activities had been scheduled, starting with a morning vermouth accompanied by music from MapuxeSound. In the patio and gardens there were stands from various brands and associations, as well as areas where food was served, while inside the headquarters you could get drinks and there was also the stage for performances and concerts.

Although it had been a very hot date, the weather forecasts warned that it would be a rainy weekend and the organization was cautious, so tents were installed to cover the outdoor areas of the patio and garden, which helped a lot for the event to take place. because it was actually flooded from Friday to Sunday and, although there was a large influx of people, some people did not come and the "Cannabus Route" that had been organized for Sunday to take a bus tour along the Cantabrian coast had to be suspended.

Musical performances and monologues enlivened the meeting during the morning while the professional and popular tastings of the different categories took place, as well as a special moment for the "Edibles" tasting. The paellas were also cooked that all attendees were able to taste accompanied by a delicious dessert, which served to recharge their batteries to continue with the afternoon's programming and the presentation of trophies. The most anticipated moment came at 8:30 p.m. with the reading of the 3 winners of each category who each went up to collect their prize. "Weed de la terra", "Selva Club", "Euskal Herria Green", "Mr.Hide Seeds" and "Makonha Bilbao" were some of the winners who took the stage. *(Full ranking list at the end of this article).

Sunday's day took place again at the association's headquarters since it continued to rain and the bus route had not been possible. A calmer day that served to spend more time together and at the same time take the time to say goodbye, wishing to see each other again next year.
